Lee University golfers Beck Burnette and Dustin Demersseman have been named NCAA Division II PING All-Region honorees as announced by the GCAA. Players across eight regions earned all-region honors in 2023.
Burnette was named an All-American and a second team All-American in 2021. He has been named to three straight First Team All-GSC. He accomplished the feat in 2021, 2022, and 2023. He is one of 12 golfers to earn three All-GSC awards and he is one of three to be first team all three times.
The Bryon Nelson Award finalist, had a scoring average of 69.64. He is ranked as the #2 NCAA DII golfer in the country.
DeMersseman was a second team All-GSC selection in 2021. He has a scoring average of 72.98 this year. He is ranked seventh in the south region and ranked in the top 50 nationally. He finished in the Top 20 in five of six tournaments this spring and had nine rounds under par this semester.
Director of Golf John Maupin is proud of the accomplishment of his golfers. “Beck and Dustin have had great seasons for us. It’s no small achievement to make the All-Region team in the South. I am proud of both of these young men.”
