  • Friday, May 30, 2025
In a heartfelt celebration attended by family, friends, and fellow members, the Mountain City Club (MCC) proudly honored longtime member Joe Decosimo on the occasion of his milestone birthday last Wednesday. With a packed room reflecting the admiration and respect of many, the afternoon served not only as a tribute to Mr. Decosimo’s legacy but also as a momentous announcement of a lasting honor.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Governors, members, and staff, Richard Johnson, president, expressed the club’s deep appreciation for Mr.
Decosimo’s unwavering dedication and enduring impact on the MCC community.

Mr. Decosimo’s legacy with the Club is rooted in family tradition, dating back to 1888 when his ancestors were among the original members and organizers of the Mountain City Club. He himself has been a devoted member for over 61 years, having joined in 1964. More than a member, he has served as a mentor, leader, and friend—welcoming generations of family, business, and community leaders into the MCC family.

“Over the years, Joe has cultivated meaningful relationships with countless members, colleagues, and staff, all of whom have been touched by his kindness and generosity,” said Mr. Johnson.

In recognition of Mr. Decosimo’s exceptional leadership, loyalty, and commitment, the Mountain City Club announced that one of its new private rooms will be named in his honor. Moving forward, it will be known as The Joe Decosimo Room—a fitting tribute to a man whose influence and dedication have shaped the Club for decades.

“Joe, your contributions to the Mountain City Club and the broader community are immeasurable. Thank you for all that you do. Happy 100th Birthday!”
