Volunteers Needed To Retire The Flags At Chattanooga National Cemetery

  • Thursday, May 29, 2025

More than 3,000 volunteers helped place the 49,800 flags at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Saturday. The flag placement was an extremely patriotic way of honoring the veterans laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

"Once the flags were placed throughout the cemetery there seemed to be an orchestrated whisper that stated, 'Thank you for remembering,'" said Captain Mickey McCamish, U. S. Navy (Retired).

Now volunteers are needed to retire (pick-up) the flags and again volunteers are needed with parking at the cemetery.

To volunteer show-up at the cemetery on Saturday at 8 a.m. If there are any questions, call 756-2212 or contact Captain McCamish at mickey@riverbendfestival.com, LCOL Scott Hardin, U. S. Army (Retired) at hshardin@epbfi.com or CAVC Chairman and U. S. Marine Retiree Bill Norton at bill@metroservicesinc.com.
