The Cleveland boys' and girls'
cross country teams had individual champions at the Woodland Park
meet held at Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga this past week. A pair of seniors won in Lucy Hearn and Noah Dycus.
The boys finished 2nd with 33 points that included the individual champ Dycus who ran the 5000 meters or 3.1 miles in 16:22.46. Other boys that placed in the top ten were: Ethan Langford fifth at 16:58.07, Cole Rodgers sixth at 17:02.99 and in ninth Kaiden Smith timed at 17:52.43
Dycus, Langford and Rodgers are seniors while Smith is a sophomore.
The girls also had the individual champion as Hearn was timed at 20:25.65. Her two other teammates also finished in the top ten as Annie Hill finished eighth in a time of 22:18.01 and freshman Phoebe Hearn running ninth clocked at 22:18.50. Hearn and Hill are seniors on the Cleveland girls cross country team.
