The City Council, after studying the complex issue for a year, on Tuesday night approved a new Short Term Vacation Rental setup on first reading.
Non-owner occupied rentals will be limited to commercial zones.
Home stay units (owner occupied) can be in residential zones except outside of the overlay area. The overlay was created when some council members wanted to opt out of having any rentals in their districts.
