The Annual Disciple Making Mission Fundraising Golf Tournament will be played at the Black Creek Club premier golf course Monday. All proceeds will go to benefit the Disciple Making Mission ministry.
For nearly 15 years, Disciple Making Mission has been teaching disciples, followers of Christ, how to become disciple-makers, meaning how to pour into, walk alongside and mentor other disciples to teach them to do the same. They then educate, energize, and equip mentees to learn to do the same, said officials.
“We have almost 1,000 men representing 52 churches in our area who have gone through this program and a curriculum with a book called “Fruit That Won’t Spoil,” Approximately one-third of these men were from Walker State Prison while incarcerated,” said Board Chair Tom Kitsmiller. “We have been going into Walker State Prison for 12 years feeding the prisoners at large and inviting them on this disciple-making journey. We now have been asked by other Georgia prisons to do the same due to its success.”
