Abba's House Launches Community Food Pantry June 13

  • Tuesday, June 6, 2023
Abba’s House will open the Abba’s House Food Pantry on Tuesday, June 13, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.  The Food Pantry will be open to the community on the second Tuesday of every month, and it is the first of its kind in the Hixson area.

Officials said, "Each family will receive a family food box any time between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.  We ask that only one member of the family come to receive the food box, as space is limited.  There will also be various social service agencies on hand to assist with employment opportunities, recovery services, clothing closets and much more."

Pastor Theresa Biggs, who leads the Food Pantry said, “The Abba’s House Food Pantry is a ministry to the hungry.  We have been working for months, visiting other area food pantries and praying and preparing for this day.
I am so excited that we are going to be able to offer this to our community. We are grateful for our partner agencies and volunteers who have worked hard to make this possible.”

Donations of food or money can be made to stock the food pantry.  See the list of items needed at https://abbashouse.com/food-pantry or give to help buy food for those in need.

The Food Pantry is located in Building A on the Abba’s House campus at 5208 Hixson Pike.  If you would like additional information, call 423-877-6462.
