Vice Mayor Lizzy Schmidt and Mayor Lee Davis
Walden Mayor Lee Davis has officially endorsed Vice Mayor Lizzy Schmidt for alderman. This endorsement comes as Vice Mayor Schmidt seeks reelection, further strengthening her campaign and demonstrating the support she has garnered from the town's leadership and citizens, said officials.
Mayor Davis has worked closely with Vice Mayor Schmidt for four years. “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Lizzy, and her dedication to our community is truly remarkable,” Mayor Davis said. The two have collaborated on several projects, enhancing the city's charm and preserving its historical sites.
Vice Mayor Schmidt has served on the Roads and Safety Committee since its inception and implemented a policy to change to permanent sunken reflectors as roads are paved and the Slow Down Walden Campaign. Due to her efforts, Walden was awarded a $685,683 ARP TDEC grant to address stormwater issues.
Vice Mayor Schmidt's policies have not only contributed to Walden's growth but also ensured that the town remains deeply rooted in its rich heritage. “Her leadership has been instrumental in implementing policies that ensure Walden thrives while maintaining its roots. Lizzy deserves to continue serving as our Alderman,” Mayor Davis said.
“I am grateful and honored to receive Mayor Davis’ endorsement today," said Vice Mayor Schmidt. "He is a steadfast leader in our community, and it is a privilege to serve this community under his leadership.”
