For the second time in three years, Ringgold High School Performing Arts is a One-Act Play state champion. RHSPA’S production of Hadestown - Teen Edition was awarded the top prize in the GHSA 2A State One-Act Championship last Saturday inside the Mabry Arts Center at Carrollton High School.
Ringgold Performing Arts, runners-up last year, last won the title in 2022 with its production of Mary Poppins. Senior Luke Garverick, with his role of “Orpheus,” was awarded “Best Actor,” while castmates Ivy O’Neal, Taylor Rice, Jadyn Hatch and Cherish Headrick took home “All Star Cast” honors.
“The entire cast and crew worked so hard on this production, and we’re so happy to have won the GHSA 2A Championship,” said Jané Cirlot Ellis, theater director at Ringgold High School.
“This year, we’re doing something different, as we’ll be performing the full Hadestown show beginning on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Ringgold High School. Folks coming to the show, which runs through Saturday, Dec. 14, will be in for a special treat, as this cast is truly remarkable."
