The Lee men's and women's basketball teams received at-large bids to the NCAA regional tournaments on Sunday.
The women's basketball team earned the #5 seed in the upcoming NCAA South Regional on Sunday night. The Lady Flames will take on #4 Nova Southeastern University who went 23-5 this season and was the Sunshine State conference regular season champions.
Lee made it to the Gulf South Conference championship before falling to Valdosta State in the championship game. VSU earned the #1 seed and the right to host the tournament. They will play #8 Miles College who was the Southern Intercollegiate Conference champions. The #2 see is Union University and they will play #7 seed Eckerd College who won the Sunshine State Conference tournament. The #3 seed is the University of Tampa and they will play #6 seed Embry-Riddle University.
The Lady Flames will play the Sharks on Friday, March 8 at a time yet to be announced.
The Lee University men's basketball team earned the #7 seed in the upcoming NCAA South Regional on Sunday night. The Flames will take on #2 University of West Georgia who went 26-5 this season and was the Gulf South Conference regular season and tournament champions.
Lee made it to the Gulf South Conference semifinals before falling to the University of Alabama in Huntsville in five overtimes. Nova Southeastern University earned the #1 seed and the right to host the tournament. They will play #8 Benedict College. The #3 seed is Florida Southern College and they will play #6 seed Clark Atlanta University who won the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. The #4 seed is UAH and they will play #5 seed Embry-Riddle University.
The Flames will play the Wolves on Saturday, March 16 at a time yet to be announced.
