Judy Carol Payne Goodner
Judy Carol Payne Goodner passed away on March 7, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the age of 83. She was born on November 27, 1941, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Judy was a dedicated LPN and worked in the Purchasing Department at Astec Industries. She also held the position of Vice President at Goodner and Company. She was actively involved in her community and worshiped at Morris Hill Baptist Church.
She was a mother to all and a truly solid Christian lady. She loved her husband, Boyd Lee Goodner, and her family dearly. Judy was the biggest Tennessee Volunteer fan and a positive role model to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Julianna Gore and Melissa Holder; brother, William “Bill” Payne. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Payne, mother, Louise Payne, sisters Jane Langley, Bobbie Langley, Emalyne Taylor, brother Charles Payne, and her husband, Boyd Lee Goodner.
Judy's hobbies included playing piano and she was the former organist at Avondale Baptist Church. She loved music, collecting Vols memorabilia, reading the Bible, and she will be remembered for her charitable contributions and love for her family and community.
A funeral visitation and service will be held at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road on Thursday, March 14. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the service at 1 p.m., and graveside services at the National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
