Big FM 106.9's Gary Poole announced Wednesday on the air that this is the last day of the station.
The current format ends at midnight.
This is part of the recently announced sale of two of Brewer Broadcasting's FM frequencies to another organization.
Kira Brewer Headlee, vice president, recently said Brewer Media will continue with two other radio stations.
She said, "Just like any other business we have to evaluate our operations and make upgrades and changes in our missions. For 2024 we will be moving our studio location out of downtown to the Brainerd area.
"In addition we will be downsizing our broadcasting footprint. For the last decade we have operated ESPN Chattanooga on first 105.1FM and then on 95.3FM. We have operated BIG FM on 95.3 FM and then on 106.9 FM. We have made the decision to sell these two signals."
The sale was for $900,000 to Radio Training Network, which has a contemporary Christian focus.
