The Land Trust of North Alabama announces the acquisition of a significant new property on Drake Mountain. This 21-acre parcel, located at the mountain’s peak north of Hampton Cove and south of Ripple Lane, marks another step forward in the organization’s ongoing mission to conserve North Alabama’s natural landscapes.

For years, the Land Trust has identified the tract as a key conservation priority. Its strategic location, adjacent to existing Land Trust property atop Drake Mountain, makes it an essential addition to the growing network of protected lands in the region. The property boasts native habitat with minimal invasive species and presents promising opportunities for non-motorized recreation, said officials.

By securing this property, the Land Trust continues its commitment to preserving North Alabama’s unique landscapes, protecting wildlife corridors, and providing recreational opportunities for future generations. The acquisition of the Elaine Miller Woodling Tract represents another success in the organization’s broader efforts to conserve the natural beauty of Drake Mountain.
