Born in Providence, RI, Jon spent many years in Windsor, Ct., before making his home in Signal Mountain and Chattanooga. A graduate of Windsor High School, he went on to serve his country in the US Navy. Jon spent a long and successful career in retail management, working with Lowe’s, Southeastern Salvage and eventually retiring from CVS Pharmacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Holbrook and Priscilla Bourne; his sister Joan Bourne Hanseth; his nephew George Lukens III; and his cherished wife of 45 years, Ann Hedges Bourne.

He is survived by his daughter Natasha Polk of Chattanooga; his son, Caleb (Rachel Bodenbender) Bourne of Atlanta, Georgia; his granddaughter, Anna Polk of Chattanooga; and his grandson, Lucas Bourne also of Atlanta. Additional family includes his sister, Susan Lukens of Girdwood, Alaska; nephews Jonny and Matt Lukens; his brother-in-law Jay Hanseth; and mother-in-law Mary Hedges of Chattanooga.

Jon was a man of many talents and passions. An avid fisherman and gifted athlete, he also had a keen eye for vintage wares and was the proprietor of several antique stores in the region. A skilled cook and nature lover, he enjoyed gardening and traveled widely. Above all, Jon was fiercely devoted to his family and deeply loyal to his friends. He was known for his sharp wit, dry humor, honesty and a generosity that knew no bounds. To know Jon was to share in laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments.
