The Covenant baseball team went down early on Tuesday afternoon against Sewanee, but that didn't deter the home team. The Scots went on to score 10 unanswered runs and held on late to earn a season-split with the Tigers.

The Tigers expanded their lead to 4-0 in the third inning with an RBI single to right field.
In the third inning, Roby McClarnon turned an infield single to a home run, thanks to a pair of throwing errors by the Sewanee defense on the play.
Sewanee used a 2-RBI double to left-center field to push its lead to 6-1 in the fourth inning.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the frame, Nate Jones drew a walk to make it 6-2.
Zach Ferlita and McClarnon were the next two batters and they both delivered RBI singles to cut the lead to two runs.
Covenant's final run of the fourth inning was on an RBI groundout off the bat of Sam Cecil as it now trailed 6-5.
Covenant tied the game in the fifth inning as Elliott Eastin drove in Daniel Bell with an RBI single up the middle.
An RBI double from Bell and a 2-RBI double by Luke Carter, who came in the game to pinch hit, highlighted a four-run sixth inning for the Scots to put them up 10-6.
Zeke Gilbert hit an RBI sacrifice fly to center field in the seventh inning for Covenant's final run of the day.
Sewanee rallied with four runs in the ninth inning and had the tying run on third base before a swinging strikeout ended the game.
Covenant moves to 20-9 all-time against Sewanee. Covenant threw five pitchers with RHP Brady Daniell (3 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K) who pitched the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, picking up the win.
RHP Christian Vander Veen (1 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K), RHP Zach Barrett (2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 K), RHP Jake Schock (2 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 1 K), and RHP Jonathan Glover (1 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 1 K) also pitched for Covenant.
McClarnon (4-for-6, 2 R, 1 RBI) with four hits and Eastin (3-for-4, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB) with three hits led the Covenant offense.
Sewanee outhit Covenant 16-13.
Covenant committed one error while Sewanee had four.
Each team had a runner thrown out at home plate during the game on a relay play from left field.
This is Covenant's second win of the year after being down five runs, the other being against Eastern Mennonite on March 5th.
