Local Nonprofit For Mothers In Crisis Opens New Thrift Store To Support Ministry

Foundation House Ministries announces the opening of their new thrift store in Athens that will employ and support mothers in their program.

A grand opening ceremony will be held at the thrift store, 225 E. Washington Ave. in Athens, from 11 a.m.-1p.m. on April 25.

Good Foundations Thrift Store is the second thrift store the nonprofit operates. Foundation House's growth into McMinn County is supported by the Tennessee Strong Families grant. The nonprofit's executive team, as well as mothers in the program and various local officials, will be in attendance.

"Volunteers and donations are always gratefully accepted," officials said. "Established in 2012 by Suzanne Burns, Foundation House Ministries aims to break the cycle of generational addiction and poverty in mothers by providing comprehensive, faith-based programs that offer safe housing, life skills training and emotional support to empower these families towards a brighter future."
