Martha Anne “Marty” Murphey Jennings, 82, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee passed away on April 12, 2025.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, John E. Murphey and Pauline Donnell Murphey and her husband, Dan Jennings.

She is survived by her children, Jack and Leanne.

Martha was born in Lebanon, Tn., the daughter of John E. and Pauline Donnell Murphey. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1960, and then went on to the University of Tennessee Knoxville earning a B.S. degree where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and was the brigade sponsor for Army ROTC. In 1972, Martha married Dan Jennings. Martha and Dan raised their children and spent the majority of their lives in Signal Mountain. They loved traveling and accompanied each other on many adventures including cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.

Martha was a member of the Red Bank Church of Christ in Chattanooga, and made many close friendships through the church. Her kindness was felt by many. She never had anything bad to say about anyone and was brave and proactive in her battle with Parkinson’s disease.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on April 18, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Lebanon, Tn.
