Author, Historian Dean Arnold To Speak At Pachyderm Club

Local author, historian, filmmaker, and activist Dean Arnold will speak at the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club on Monday at noon at the Chattanooga Masonic Center, 551 W. 21st St., across from Finley Stadium.

Mr. Arnold graduated from Covenant College on Lookout Mountain with an emphasis on history and philosophy.

He has written, among others, the book “Old Money, New South; The Spirit of Chattanooga” which provides a portrait of the city through over 50 interviews with local leaders, personalities, politicians, and prominent families.

He also weaves in a number of historical insights, from the Civil War to the Trail of Tears, to ancient Indian settlements, with discussions on the meaning of Chattanooga.
