Rebecca Ruth Nolan (Harrell), known affectionately as Becky, Mom, Grandmommy, Mammy, and Aunt Bec, passed away peacefully in her home at Linwood Place in Chatsworth, Georgia. She was 81 years old.
Born in Panama City, Fl., Rebecca spent most of her life in the Dalton area. Her days were filled with family, laughter, and the kind of presence that made everyone feel special.
She is survived by her daughters: Rebecca (Ron) Morelli, Amy (Jason) Traylor, and Rachel (Bret) Farris; and by her grandchildren: Eric (Lauren), Kayla (Ryan), Luke, Sarah, Michael (Kaity), and Max. She was also blessed with a growing group of great-grandchildren.
It didn’t matter what you told her the problem was — she would just look at you and say, “It’ll be okay.” And somehow, because it was her saying it, you believed her. She had a saying: “You don’t divide love, you multiply it.” That’s exactly how she lived — with a heart big enough to hold everyone close. She gave freely of her love, her time, and her warmth, and made everyone around her feel like family.
Rebecca was an avid animal lover, especially dogs — she never met one she didn’t love. She had many over the years and each held a special place in her heart. When she knew the end was nearing, she made sure that Romeo, her constant companion, had a loving home to go to after she was gone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. Nolan and Prudie M. Brumlow, and her siblings, Patsy E. Wrinkle and Raymond B. Wrinkle. She also shared a special bond with her niece, Patti Painter, whose love and support meant so much to her.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave continues to grow through the lives of those she touched. As a passionate animal lover, Rebecca asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Murray County Humane Society, PO Box 796, Chatsworth Ga 30705.
