Charles Ray “Charlie” Dotson
Charles Ray “Charlie” Dotson, 75, of Hixson, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at his mother’s home.
Charlie was a longtime member of Sequoyah Baptist Church and a proud member of The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, (IUPAT) Chapter 226, where he worked as a professional painter. Known for his kind heart and quiet strength, Charlie enjoyed spending time fishing and caring for his beloved dogs and cats.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Dotson; his father, Garfield Dotson; his maternal grandparents, James and Marie Carney; and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Molly Dotson.
Charlie is survived by his devoted mother, Dot Ray, and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. David Stancil officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Montgomery Cemetery in Dayton, Tn.
