School Board Votes 5-4 To Discontinue Contract With Firm Providing Student Mental Health Services

The County School Board has voted 5-4 to discontinue a longstanding contract with a student mental health provider. In favor of keeping the MOU with Cornerstone were Karitsa Jones, Jackie Thomas, Ben Connor, Felice Hadden and Jill Black. Officials said the contract was at no cost to the county schools, and the firm was reimbursed by TennCare or other providers. Lookouts Drop Fourth Straight To Shuckers

With multi-home run games from Garrett Spain and Blake Burke, the Biloxi Shuckers (66-54, 24-27) earned a series win with a 9-3 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts (62-53, 24-25) at Keesler Federal Park on Sunday night. The game marked the Shuckers fourth straight win, outscoring the Lookouts 30-10 during the streak for their 12th series win of the season.
