CBL & Associates Properties Inc. Gets New Additions

Michael G. Blue and Mark D. Stephens are the two newest additions to the financial services division of CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., in the Chattanooga, Tn.- headquarters of the firm.

“We are very pleased that Michael Blue and Mark Stephens have joined our firm,” stated John N. Foy, vice chairman of the board and chief financial officer of the shopping center development and management firm.”

“Our company has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past two years and we have a very active new development program underway as well. Both of these individuals will be of great assistance in the financial area of our firm.”

Mr. Blue will be involved in financial analysis of projects which the firm owns as well as projects under consideration. Mr. Stephens will be involved in the area of property taxes for the company.

A native of Searcy, Arkansas, Mr. Blue was awarded a bachelor of business administration degree with a major in finance this year from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He completed his collegiate work in three years and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.

Mr. Blue is married to the former Christina Herrington of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Mr. Stephens is a native of Chattanooga and has been involved in property tax and property appraisal work since 1984. He began his business career with the Hamilton County Assessors Office.

From 1988 to 1991, Mr. Stephens was a staff appraiser with Cherokee Valley Bank, performing residential appraisals and construction inspections for projects financed by the bank. From 1991 to 1994, he was an appraiser for Leo V. Hyyti & Associates.

From 1994 until accepting his new position with CBL & Associates Properties, Mr. Stephens operated his own appraisal business, dealing with both lending institutions and individuals.

Mr. Stephens was awarded a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1984. He holds certified residential appraiser certificates from both Tennessee and Georgia.

Married to the former Barbara Holley of Lookout Mountain, Tn., the Stephens have two children, Holley and Miles.

CBL & Associates Properties has a very aggressive new development program underway. In October, the firm staged the grand opening of Arbor Place, the 1.2 million square-foot super regional mall in Atlanta (Douglasville), Ga., along with The Landing at Arbor Place, the 162,000 square-foot associated center at the site of the mall.

In addition, the firm has seven new developments under construction including The Lakes Mall (700,000 square feet) in Muskegon, Mi.; Chesterfield Crossing (440,000 square feet) in Richmond, Va.; Gunbarrel Pointe (282,000 square feet) in Chattanooga; Coastal Way Shopping Center (233,000 square feet) in Spring Hill (Hernando County), Fla.; Asheville Mall expansion (96,000 square feet) in Asheville, NC.; Regal Cinemas (83,000 square feet) in Jacksonville, Fla.; and Sutton Plaza expansion (28,088 square feet) in Mount Olive, NJ.
