Decorated WW II Army Veteran

Leroy Christopher, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was a decorated World War II Army veteran and received the Bronze Star. He retired from Wheland Foundry and was a faithful member of East Third Street Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon for many years.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Christopher; sons, Roger Christopher, of Ringgold, GA, Larry Christopher, of Chattanooga, and Steve (Hazel) Christopher, of Rossville; daughter, Bonita (Frank) Woodson, of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; dedicated niece, Sykenya Buchanan, of Rossville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be Friday at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with brother John R. Taylor Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
