The Chattanooga-area chapter of the Safari Club International is gearing up for an outdoor show and banquet at the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center on February 5th.

The show begins at 11:00 AM and runs all day with a reception starting at 5:00 pm -- dinner and auction to follow.

Organizer Billy Swan III says, "we will have outfitters from all over the world as well as Polaris, Kelly Cadillac, Dicks Sporting Goods and others exhibiting and selling or booking hunts. Some of the hunts are bear for two in Canada, trophy mule deer, Mexico duck and dove, Costa Rica fishing with airfare, Africa photo safari for two, Polaris ranger 2005 model, Arctic Cat 400 4x4 4-wheeler, full length ladies mink, an Alabama deer hunt, a South Dakota deer, turkey and Canada whitetail hunts.

"Our goal is to have something for everyone and everyone's budget, also $5 and $10 raffle items and games," said Swan.

Representatives from many of the hunts being offered will be on hand to discuss the hunts first-hand.

Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple and $25 for youngsters 16 and under. Corporate tables are available for $350 (8 seats reserved prime seating). Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 423-635-2582.

Swan said, "keep in mind, most all of the money raised stays here in town. In the last 18 months we've purchased three mechanical deer for TWRA law enforcement officers. We feel this is the best event of its kind in the area."
