Monteagle/Sewanee Featuring 10th Annual Holiday Studio Tour

The 10th Annual Holiday Studio Tour in Monteagle and Sewanee is set for Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3, from noon to 5 p.m. CST.

Sponsored by Craft Artist of Southern Tennessee (CAST), the local chapter of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA), it features holiday tours of artists' studios and galleries.

A total of 16 locations in the Sewanee/Monteagle area are included.

Work from over 40 artist will be on display and available for purchase. just in time for the Holiday Season.

Artwork will also be available for purchase at sponsor locations including Monteagle Inn and Lorena’s in Monteagle and Shenanigans in Sewanee.

Other sites included in this year’s tour are the University of the South Art Gallery, Sewanee American Legion Hall, and the Spencer Room at St. Andrews-Sewanee School along with many private art studios.

Stop at any of the locations to pick up a detailed map of the tour. Then follow the bright yellow signs across the mountain to see the unique variety of artist and artwork on the tour including works in pottery, jewelry, glass, wood, textiles, paintings, prints, and much more!

As in past years the St. Andrews-Sewanee Art Gallery will host the exhibit “Full CAST” featuring the work of artist on the tour, CAST- TACA members, and SAS faculty and staff.

All works featured in the “Full CAST” exhibit are also for sale. This year’s show is juried by Curtis Benzle. Mr Benzle is a full professor and chairman of Dimensional Studies, at Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. He received his B.F.A. from the Ohio State University in 1972 and his MA from Northern Illinois University in 1978. His work is included in many major museums and collections around the world.
