Super BI-LO Opens On Ooltewah/Ringgold Road

  • Wednesday, February 6, 2008

BI-LO teammates and local dignitaries joined BI-LO Regional Vice President Dwayne Goodwin to cut the ribbon for the opening of the first Super BI-LO in Tennessee on Wednesday.

Located at 1667 Ooltewah/Ringgold Road in Ooltewah Tennessee, the new Super BI-LO will employ 145 people and will be open 24 hours each day.

Super BI-LO offers an extensive product selection in each
department and enhanced customer service throughout the store, officials said.

The new store features many one-stop shopping conveniences including a drive-through pharmacy, a digital photo kiosk, a full service floral department and a café seating area with WI-FI, it was stated.

Amenities such as a full-service meat and seafood market, expanded organics and natural food selections are also featured at the new store.

There will be expanded hours of service in the deli, bakery, meat, seafood and produce departments.

Mr. Goodwin said, “We opened the first Super BI-LO in the Greenville area last June and have had exceptional customer feedback. We have
listened to our customers and responded by offering the Super BI-LO
format.”

John Symons, executive vice president of store operations, added,
"With Super BI-LO we have really focused on what matters to our customers. We want every customer to shop with confidence, we want them
to delight in the products we offer and we want them to have an exceptional experience every time they enter one of our stores.”

BI-LO also made a $500 donation to the Ringgold High School Choir. The choir
performed at the ceremony.

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, several events and promotions were scheduled to celebrate the grand opening of the new Super BI-LO location. Wednesday-Friday the first 100 customers each day will receive a free gift. These include a $20 Super BI-LO gift card on Wednesday, a Super BI-LO Fleece Blanket on Thursday and a Super BI-LO magnetic kitchen timer on Friday.

The grand opening Funfest features games, prizes, raffles and face painting.

Funfest hours will be from 4-8 on Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.

Super BI-LO is also offering Ooltewah customers a chance to win a free vacation. Customers who spend $100 in one transaction with their Bonus Card will be entered to win a chance to win
a trip for four to Disney World.

The opening of the Super BI-LO location is part of BI-LO’s capital investment plan of $40 million in the Chattanooga area announced last
year. In addition to the Ooltewah location, two area BI-LO stores are
being converted to the Super BI-LO format. These include the BI-LO
stores located at 7804 E. Brainerd Road and at 9213 Lee Highway in Ooltewah.

A new Super BI-LO located at 5604 Hixson Pike will also open this spring.

These openings and remodels represent
approximately half of the announced $40 million investment.
