Members of the Women’s Initiative in the Chattanooga law firm or Baker, Doneslon, Caldwell and Berkowitz, PC, are hosting a wine tasting reception for 50 local women business leaders and attorneys, on Sept. 18, from 6-8 p.m., at 212 Market Restaurant.
The event will feature wines associated with women: Dragon’s Hollow Chardonnay where five women manage the company; Warwick Three Cape Ladies from the first woman winemaker in South Africa; McCrea Sirocco, a Washington State vineyard co-owned by a woman; and Ferreira White Port from a winery founded by the matriarch of a Portuguese family.
“The label of one of our five featured wines, Broadbent’s Vinho Verde, was designed by a five-year-old girl,” said Heidi Hoffecker, liaison from the firm’s Women’s Initiative and organizer of this year’s event. “And we chose 212 Market for our reception because it is owned by women and dovetails with our mission to nurture women and encourage their success in the profession,” she said.
Baker, Donelson formed the Women’s Initiative in 2005 to improve the recruitment, retention and advancement of women attorneys within the Firm and to provide a more diversified attorney team for its clients.
