East Ridge criminal investigators have arrested 29-year-old Michael Brown in connection with a stabbing in which he and two others had injuries.

Investigators worked through the day to piece together the events that led to a fight between Brown and his brother-in-law, Askia Witherow.

Brown was transported to the Hamilton County Jail, where he has been charged with aggravated assault.

Brown is scheduled to be in East Ridge Municipal Court on Tuesday, April 5, at 5 p.m.

The incident took place Sunday afternoon. Police responded to Apt. 225 at the Fountain Bleau Apartments located at 950 Spring Creek Road.

When officers arrived on the scene they found two victims who had lacerations. A third victim was also located at Parkridge East Hospital suffering from a stab wound.

Officers determined that Askia Witherow and Heather Witherow were involved in an argument. The argument escalated when Brown, the brother of Ms. Witherow, became angry. He produced a knife and a fight ensued.

During the struggle Askia Witherow sustained a large cut to the back of the neck. Brown also sustained a stab wound to the left side of his abdomen as the two fell to the floor.

Heather Witherow also received a laceration to the hand while attempting to break up the fight.
