Owen Holder
Owen Alvin Holder Jr. 79, of Ooltewah, died on July 1, 2011 at a local hospital.
He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Local No. 74. He was an avid fisherman and loved to metal detect.
He was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to sing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Watts Holder of Ooltewah; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lenetta Holder of Ooltewah; Ronnie and Paula Holder of Harrison; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Dicky Bray of Ooltewah; sisters and brother-in-law, Patsy and Bill Walls of Chattanooga; Nola Fields of Cleveland; brother, Wesley Holder of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Eric (Dannieal) Holder of Athens; Brandon (Misti) Bray of Ooltewah Josh Holder of Harrison; Jessica Holder of Ooltewah; Blake Holder of Ooltewah; McClain Bray of Ooltewah; great-grandchildren, Dallas Casteel; Cheyenne Holder; Lily Holder and Lane Bray.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 4, from 4-8 p.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at Crossroads Baptist Church.
The Rev. Donnie Holder and the Rev. Mike Steele will conduct the funeral at 1 p.m. in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, 9122 Ooltewah Georgetown Road, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
