A man has been charged with severely beating and strangling a woman on East 36th Street on Friday night.
Around 8:15 p.m., Chattanooga Police officers responded to a domestic assault complaint at 1312 E 36th. The 40-year-old female victim was found at an address on E 32nd Street suffering from serious facial and head injuries.
The victim stated that 31-year-old Alex Vicente had beaten and strangled her at the 36th Street address. She was taken to Erlanger Hospital for treatment.
Vicente was located and arrested on the charge of attempted criminal homicide.
