The Chattanooga Clarinet Choir was founded in 1998 by Jay Craven, retired Chattanooga
Symphony musician and music educator in the Chattanooga school system. Craven directed the ensemble for several years and continues to play with the Choir.
Other members of this all- volunteer ensemble consist of area professional, amateur, and student musicians. They perform mostly classical transcriptions and commissioned works, as well as jazz, popular, and show tunes. Bobby Dugan, a lifelong music educator and trombonist, is the Choir’s conductor.
The Jewish Cultural Center, funded by the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, offers programs, classes, and exhibits; social services; and a preschool—all rooted in Jewish values. The facility enables the Jewish community to raise its visibility, foster relationships, and strengthen its identity in the Chattanooga area. Located at 5461 North Terrace, the Cultural Center and all Federation programs are open to everyone regardless of religious affiliation.
