Colonial Dames XVII Century Prudhomme Fort Chapter has awarded Ashlee Denise Swafford, (the daughter of Scott and Cheryl Swafford) the Mary Florence Taney Scholarship. Miss Swafford is a student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, maintains a 3.8 GPA, and aspires to become a medical doctor. One of her hobbies is marathon running.

The Mary Florence Taney Scholarship is awarded nationally to a select group of high school seniors who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher average and will be attending college. The scholarship is $500.00 per semester for a possible four semesters, provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA or higher.
