Members Of Legislative Delegation Ask Erlanger To Hold Up On CEO Selection

  • Friday, January 18, 2013

Members of the local legislative delegation are again asking the Hospital Authority Board to hold up on a new CEO selection at Erlanger Health System.

House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick earlier wrote a letter with the same request, but board members afterward indicated they plan to proceed with naming one of three finalists "within the first quarter."

The latest letter is signed by Senators Todd Gardenhire and Bo Watson and House members McCormick, Richard Floyd, Vince Dean, JoAnne Favors and Mike Carter.

The letter notes that the delegation is planning changes to the Hospital Authority makeup.

It says the hiring of a new CEO at this point "could potentially burden the new governance structure with a contract that would be expensive and disruptive to terminate."
