Edith Stanley Parker, 87, of Dalton, GA, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late James and Bertha Stanley; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen L. “Red” Parker; sisters, Bertie Stanley, Lou Greeson and Maudie Favors; and brother, James Richard Stanley. 

Edith was a lifelong member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly. She willingly served her church and family throughout her lifetime. She was the epitome of a christian and will be remembered for her kindness and awesome, beautiful, caring, elegant, hardworking, untiring and loving woman not only by her family but by everyone who was blessed to know her. Our hearts are broken for the loss of our precious mother, grandmother and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She leaves behind the cares and pains of this life.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeannie Habermehl and Barbara Charter both of Dalton; grandson, Brian Habermehl; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Habermehl, Zacary Habermehl, Dustin Habermehl and Jake Watson; brother, Paul Stanley; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 5 at 3 p.m. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Trey Starnes and the Rev. Denny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday, October 4 from 4-8 p.m. 

Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave, Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
