Billy Hogue
Billy G. Hogue, of Signal Mountain, died on Thursday morning, November 21, 2013 at his home. He was 73.
Billy was born in Sayre, Oklahoma to the late L. V. and Edna Sites Hogue. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University where he received his degree in Mathematics. Billy served our country in the National Guard. He was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga and Signal Mountain area. Billy was the founder and president of Craftique Manufacturing Company which he started in 1969. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church and a former member of the Northside Civitan Club.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, John Charles Scribner Pierce and a brother, Don Hogue.
Billy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Harriette Brown Hogue; children, Katherine Elizabeth Hogue Pierce, Haven Brown Hogue Burns (Kirk) and William Dean Hogue (Melissa) grandchildren, Katherine Ellis Pierce, Bethany Haven Burns, Grace Ann Hogue, Benjamin Charles Burns, Sally Ruth Hogue and Caroline Hogue Burns; brothers, Larry Von Hogue and Harold Dean Hogue; nephews, David Everett O’Neal, Jimmy Don Hogue, Loren Hogue and Troy Don Hogue; nieces, Rebecca O’Neal Dagg (Christian) and Julie Hogue Cox (James);
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p..m on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A private graveside service will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park for the family only with the Reverend Jill Fisher officiating.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Billy’s name to Make A Wish Foundation, 510 South Willow Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404, or phone 423 629-9474.
