Funeral Is Saturday For TVA Retiree Killed In I-75 Wreck Near Ooltewah

Funeral services will be Saturday for a retired TVA systems analyst who was killed Wednesday when a tractor-trailer crossed I-75 near the Ooltewah exit and struck her vehicle.

The funeral for Betty Jean Petty, 71, will be in Madisonville, Tn., at Biereley-Hale Chapel with Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment is in Sunset Cemetery. 

She was the valedictorian of the Madisonville High School Class of 1960. She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College.

Ms. Petty was an avid environmentalist and was a member of the Chattanooga Hiking Club.
