Miami-Based Health Care Innovation And Design Firm Establishes Headquarters In Chattanooga

  • Friday, May 3, 2013

Lift1428, an innovation, design, strategy, and communications firm based in Miami, Fla., has established its primary office in Chattanooga. Lift1428 serves the healthcare industry as a leading authority in the emerging transformation of the American health care system.

“Chattanooga is an amazing city,” said David McDonald, CEO and co-founder of Lift1428. “Even though we set up shop in Miami first, we always intended to establish our headquarters in this city. We have built one amazing company in Chattanooga, and we are confident we will find the right talent to build the next great healthcare company right here.”

Mr. McDonald is the founder of Chattanooga-based True North Custom Media, which he exited in 2007 when he sold the company to H.I.G. Capital in Miami. He and a group of business partners started Lift1428 in 2012.

Lift1428 bills itself as a bold, creative, well-connected, and innovative company dedicated to the transformation of the health care space. The company leverages design thinking, human potential, and innovation to help hospitals and health care businesses play a meaningful role in the evolution of today’s healthcare system.

“Health care is transforming—and so is the way we must think about our businesses,” said J. Kevin Tugman, chief creative and co-founder at Lift1428. “Innovation, design thinking, and transformation comprise the language of tomorrow’s health care space, and no one speaks that language better than Lift1428. We are skilled in the language of creative and strategic thinking. We provide innovative, powerful, and enduring business solutions to hospitals, healthcare systems, health districts, businesses, and universities seeking to maintain a competitive edge in tomorrow’s health care space”

The company’s new offices are located in the heart of Chattanooga’s startup and entrepreneurial community on Main Street, in close proximity to another of the city’s leading innovation centers, The Company Lab (Co.Lab). From this location, Lift1428 hopes to offer clients the comprehensive resources necessary to navigate the complexities of health care strategy, while encouraging Chattanooga’s local economy and furthering the city’s role as one of the leading centers of innovation in the United States.

“Our methods include qualitative and quantitative research, data visualization, strategic planning, organizational design, cultural alignment, creative direction, communications services, and IP liberation,” said Mr. McDonald. “We are actively looking for team members who possess an interest in healthcare and who present excellent business and communication skills. We anticipate a steady need for new talent as we bring on new clients and scale our business services into 2014 and beyond.”
