Anderson Franklin “Jute” Miller, 73, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, in a local hospital.
He was born in Meigs County but had lived in Cleveland for most of his life.
He retired from the Trustee’s Office after 24 years of service, and was also a well known businessman and barber at Jute’s Barber and Hairstyling for more than 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Big Spring Baptist Church. He also served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 396 at Conasauga for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Franklin Miller and Malinda Groomes Miller; son, Gregg Scott Miller; sister, Julia Mae Wilson; and brother, Arthur Franklin Miller, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Wynette Lillard Miller; son, Jeffrey Andrew Miller and wife, Jessa; daughter, Ginger Dawn Harness and husband, Wes; grandchildren, Andie Miller, Brynnan Miller, Carly Miller, Sydney Harness, Maggie Harness, Jonas Harness, Samantha Harness, Maebey Miller, Tanner Harness and Alyssa Grimes; great-grandchild; Bennett Grimes; four sisters, Betty Ford, Jerri Brinkman and husband Clarence, Virginia Myers and husband John and Janice Orr; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Big Spring Baptist Church with Reverend Nolan Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Springs Baptist Church Outreach Fund or the charity of your choice.
