Rep. Johnnie Turner, Memphis House District 85, will serve as keynote speaker for the Greater Chattanooga Democratic Women 39th Annual Eleanor Roosevelt fundraising luncheon Saturday. The luncheon will be held at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Hotel Imperial Palace from 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Dr. Mary Headrick, candidate for U.S. Congress, Third Congressional District from Maynardsville, and Erica Gilmore, councilwoman Metro Nashville Davidson County, District 19, will serve as guest speakers.
The theme for this year’s luncheon is “Women in Politics - All Aboard.” The theme honors women in politics and their influence on policies in the past, present and the role women will have in the future.
GCDW President Jacqueline Dowell says, “Our theme serves as a call to unite all Democratic women to help elect more women to public office. We know that if we are to solve issues of improved education, immigration, minimum wage, access to affordable housing and healthcare, we will need to elect more Democrats and women.”
Tickets for the luncheon are $30 per person and $240 for table sponsorship which includes 8 tickets. Donations are accepted. The public is invited. For reservations, contact Jacqueline Dowell at dowellj1@comcast.net, 894-4676 or Sylvia Phillips at Phillips@epbfi.com, 364-4310.
