Pearl Billingsley
Pearl L. Billingsley, 89, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in a local health care facility.
She was born in Heflin, Al., to Goree and Hattie Fowlkes. She was a faithful member of Tucker Baptist Church. She served on the minister’s wives union, Good Neighbors, usher board, Mass Choir and volunteering at Erlanger.
She was retired from Erlanger Hospital as a security guard and was well known for her private catering events. She was also known for being the hardest working woman in Chattanooga due to her having so many jobs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. M. T. Billingsley and was the last of seven siblings.
Survivors are daughter, Priscilla (Harold) McGhee; sons, JaFus Trammell, Albuquerque; granddaughter, Camille P. Davis; grandsons, Rev. Adrian D. Davis, Rhys Trammell and Brauer Trammell; brother-in-law, Fred Jones; sister-in-law, Lula Mae Fowlkes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. A special thank you to Tucker Baptist Church for your weekly visits.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. at Tucker Baptist Church with Reverend Adrian D. Davis as eulogist and Reverend Gary Hathaway officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
