Trustee Hullander Turns Over To County Record $7.3 Million In Excess Fees

  • Wednesday, April 16, 2014

County Trustee Bill Hullander said he has turned over a record $7.3 million in excess fees to the county general government.

He said it was the first time the amount has topped $7 million.

It was $6.8 million the last fiscal year.

Trustee Hullander said, “We have implemented several new programs such as the partial and pre-payment programs, entered into local agreements with several of the municipalities to collect their sanitation fees and tried to make it easier for the taxpayers to make their tax payments.  The efforts of my staff and the taxpayers have saved the municipalities several thousands of dollars as well as increase the revenues to the county."

Members of the County Commission praised Trustee Hullander and County Clerk Bill Knowles for their high total of excess fees.

County Mayor Jim Coppinger said, "This means a lot to us when we go to make our budget."
