East Ridge Must Move Fire Hall As Part Of Bass Pro Shops Deal

  • Friday, August 15, 2014

East Ridge will have to relocate the fire hall at the entrance to Camp Jordan Park as part of the deal for getting a Bass Pro Shops at Exit 1, City Manager Andrew Hyatt said.

The estimated cost is $1 million. Mr. Hyatt said, "It could go over that, but we are hoping to keep it under $1 million."

He said the fire hall needs to be relocated by April 1.

"We are on a pretty aggressive schedule of finding a new site," he said.

Mr. Hyatt said officials want to keep the fire hall on that side of the freeway.

He said it would not work to pick up and move the present fire hall. He said, "It's made of metal and it would cause it too much damage."
