A woman was found dead inside her apartment at LaFayette Saturday night by a teen who was checking for his father on a water repair job.
The victim at the Langley Apartments was Frances Middleton.
LaFayette Police said, based on the appearance of the inside of the apartment, state investigators have been called in to help with the probe.
The death was initially ruled a homicide.
The complex is on South Main Street.
Authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of death.
