Irene Bowman Mowery, 69, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home. She was a member of Elmont Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Cora Murphy Bowman; children, Marty Mowery and Susan Marie Childs; and siblings, Wilbur Bowman, Agnes Bowman, Rosa Lee Hill and Edna Jenkins.
She is survived by her husband, George B. Mowery of Cleveland; son, George Tyson Mowery (Christi Annette) of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Nicole, Ramanda, Madison, Caleb and Jessie Mowery of Cleveland and Taylor Branson of Georgetown; siblings, Jimmy Bowman (Debbie), Leroy Bowman (Geraldine), James Bowman (Cathy), Freddie Bowman (Wanda), Mary Ruth Cranfield (Zeno) and Velma Childs (Jessie “Bud”), all of Cleveland and Lois McDowell of Meigs Co; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Hood and Reverend Floyd Boggess officiating. Interment will follow in Beaty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, September 29, at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
