Philip Taft Crane, 42, passed away on Tuesday May 13, 2025, at his residence in Soddy Daisy.

He was born on Dec. 31, 1982, and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. He graduated from East Ridge High School in 2001. He worked as a security specialist supervisor with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

He was a Christian and enjoyed playing music, especially the bass guitar. He and his buddies would get together and just play in hopes of making it big one day. He was a professional mini-golfer, and played regularly with his beloved wife, Susan. Philip was an avid fisherman and would “wet the line“ any chance he got. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting any national park when he was afforded the opportunity.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reece Crane, his grandparents, Bill and Louise Hickey and Floyd and Sue Crane.

Left behind to cherish Philip’s memory are his loving wife of 16 years, Susan Crane, his mother, Doris Crane Alexander (Tim), his children, Gavin and Adalyn Crane, brothers, Vaughn Crane (Angie) and Jeff Crane (Kandi), sister-in-law, Katie Crowe, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday May 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Celebration of Philip’s Life will be held immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville.
