Andre “Turk” Norris, 64, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at a local health care facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Born on Oct. 13, 1960, to Willie Owens and Savannah Hardy, Andre was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1978 and worked for Chattanooga Bakery before working as a forklift driver for Airgas, where he was known for his strong work ethic.

Andre cherished time spent with his family and found great joy in grilling and fishing. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, remembered for his kindness and dedication to those he loved. Andre was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Owens and Savannah Hardy.

Andre’s memory will be treasured by his sisters, Janquetta Lewis and Cassandra Berry; brothers, LaJuan Hardy and Nevaughn Hardy; son, William Sampson, Jr.; daughter, Tanisha Norris; four grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A public viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, 423 622-9995.

Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
