Woman Says She Was Maced, Slashed And Robbed At Brainerd Kanku's Parking Lot

A woman told police she was maced, slashed with a knife and robbed on the parking lot of the Kanku's on Brainerd Road.

Police arrested Renasta Lashea Buchanan, 35, 8134 Bork Memorial Dr.

The woman said she was attempting to sell a purse to another woman when Ms. Buchanan drove up in a burgundy Dodge Journey.

She said Ms. Buchanan began arguing with her, then sprayed her in the face with a can of mace. She said Ms. Buchanan then brandished a knife and began slashing at her. She received a severe laceration to her right hand.

She said Ms. Buchanan then walked over to her vehicle and helped herself to 5-6 purses valued at $300 to $400. She then drove off.

Ms. Buchanan was soon located at 4900 Brainerd Road. Police found one of the purses taken from the victim.

Police said the incident was caught on video.
