2 Arrested In Case Where Covington, Ga. Woman Was Run Over And Killed

Two people have been arrested in Manchester, Tn. in the Covington, Ga. case where a woman was run over and killed. One of her credit cards was then located in Chattanooga. 

On Saturday, detectives received a tip from a Tennessee resident by phone. The tipster identified the suspects and the vehicle as the ones law enforcement were looking for.

The Manchester Police Department later located the vehicle and made a traffic stop. Authorities identified the occupants as Brandon Shawn Smith, 27, and Stephanie Marie Rodriguez, 37.

The vehicle was also identified as the silver 2002 Honda Accord seen leaving the incident of the homicide-robbery at the Covington Walmart.

Smith and Ms. Rodriguez were arrested and are in custody in Manchester, and awaiting extradition to Covington, Ga. The vehicle is in law enforcement custody and will be transported to Georgia for processing.
