Gandhi's Be Magazine Kristin Hoffmann Has Peace Performances Nov. 13-14

  • Thursday, November 5, 2015

Gandhi's Be Magazine "Artist For Peace" Kristin Hoffmann will be visiting Chattanooga the weekend of Nov. 13-14 for Gandhi Global Center For Peace performances including a Mindfulness and Music class at Toe's Yoga and in concert at Mercy Junction Peace and Justice Center.

New York City singer-songwriter Ms. Hoffmann is a featured Gandhi's Be Magazine "Artist For Peace", distinguished for her message of peace and compassion for people, planet, and animals. Starting at the age of four, renaissance pop songstress and Julliard trained multi-instrumentalist, Ms. Hoffmann began building a career that reads like a lifetime achievement award speech. In addition to stints at record labels and song placements on hit TV shows like Dawson’s Creek, the Young and the Restless and Palmetto Pointe, she has shared stages with The Wallflowers, Feist, Brandi Carlile and many other musical luminaries. With a sense of artistic altruism, she is most passionate about projects that explore music’s healing power and allow listeners to tap into their higher potentials, said officials.

Having studied with Sound Healing pioneer Fabian Maman, Ms. Hoffmann not only made music to accompany acupuncture sessions but also composed 170 songs for health-challenged children as a writer/producer at non-profit organization Songs of Love. A spokesperson for ocean conservation, she has performed her Song for the Ocean at environmental awareness conventions around the world. In 2011 she became the singer for Bella Gaia, a multimedia immersive theater experience created in conjunction with NASA. Her most recent work includes a self-produced album entitled The Human Compass (2012) and a symphonic collaboration with composer Marco Missinato called Unfolding Secrets: A Symphony of the Heart.

Ms. Hoffmann will perform for Mindfulness and Music class at Toe's Yoga on Friday, Nov. 13, from 6-7:30 p.m. at 3228 Brainerd Road.  This is a community class and donations will be accepted.

Ms. Hoffmann will be in concert on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 6-8 p.m., following Mercy Junction's 5 p.m. service, at Mercy Junction Peace and Justice Center, St. Andrews Center in Highland Park, 1918 Union Ave.  This event is free and open to the community.  Ms. Hoffmann's CD's will be available for purchase, and a love offering will be collected to support the work of Mercy Junction.
