Fort Oglethorpe Officer Struck While Directing Traffic; Jasper, Tn., Woman Charged

A Fort Oglethorpe police officer was struck by a minivan on Sunday while directing traffic near the intersection of Cloud Springs Road and Mack Smith Road.

Martha Dunn of Jasper, Tn., was charged with failure to obey an official directing traffic and failure to exercise due care.

The impact caused Sgt. Richard Williams to be thrown into the air and land on his head on the pavement. He suffered a concussion and some broken bones.

He is listed in stable condition.
